Topic: A Father
Psalm 68:5-6 KJV
A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. [6] God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land .
God is a father to the fatherless, that means He has a provision for anyone who turns to him.
From our text "A father" makes us know that God doesn't become your father automatically when you become fatherless.
A father to the fatherless means, there might be other fathers to the fatherless, but anyone who turns to Jesus gets His fatherly provisions.
Does this mean God is not your father if your earthly father is alive?
No.
A Father takes responsibility over the children, he supplies his children's needs. Jesus gave a practical illustration:
"Luke 11:11-13 KJV
If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? [12] Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? [13] If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?"
God can be your father, especially in the aspects where your earthly father has nothing to offer.
See what it takes to have God as our father;
"John 1:12 KJV
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:"
Put your trust in God today, and depend on Him, He's your father.
"Proverbs 30:5 KJV
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him."
Prayer: Father help me to put my trust in you only, be my shield and buckler.
Remain blessed
