Philippians 4:12 KJV
I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
The modern prosperity messages that is plaguing the churches has made many to suppose, in their heart, that gain is godliness. "1 Timothy 6:5 KJV
Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself."
The scripture calls them "men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth"
They live for gains (money) and other material things, and they believe that's all their benefit for serving God. Consequently those who make more profit, having built big mansions and cathedrals, are regarded as the most anointed in the ministry, thereby more people follow their errors. This makes their followers pursue the same material things. What does the scripture teach?
Godliness with contentment is great gain.
"Philippians 4:13 KJV
I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." This reference has always been used by many to mean "I can achieve anything I pursue" or "if you can think it, you can achieve it" unfortunately the previous verse speaks about ability to be contented both in plenty and in little. May the Lord help us to focus on the right things, on what Jesus gave His life for.

Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to redirect my focus on you only.
Remain blessed
