Psalm 23:4 KJV
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
A good shepherd gives his all to preserve the sheep. There's a great deal of confidence in the sheep if the shepherd is a good one.
"John 10:11 KJV
I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep."
David has a little record of his shepherding experience on how he killed a lion and a bear to rescue his sheep.
" 1Sam 17:34-35. And David said unto Saul, Thy servant kept his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock: [35] And I went out after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth:"
This made me see how much a shepherd can sacrifice for a lamb. He could have ran for his life, but he stood, fought and delivered the little lamb out of the mouth of the wild beast.
No wonder David could write well of the great shepherd, If a human could go that far preserving a lamb, how much more shall our heavenly father, the great shepherd preserve us from all evil. Though God's rod and staff may inflict some kind of pain at times, but it's comforting to the genuine sheep.
"John 10:14 KJV
I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep , and am known of mine."
Are you passing through the valley of the shadows of death? It's just a shadow, even death is subject to God. Are you afraid of strange news and unusual occurrences this season?
You're not allowed to fear anything, anywhere, anytime or anyone but God.
As you trust in God this season he'll see you through every situation in Jesus name.
