Herald of maranatha: daily devotional
Topic: In the line of duty.
1 Thessalonians 2:7-8 KJV
"But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children: [8] So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us".
Many people all over the world are interested in leadership but most are not really interested in serving. Political leaders want to be served, but Christ introduced a more excellent way of love. He resolved a dispute among His disciples telling them the cores of Christian services and leadership.
Matthew 23:11 KJV
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
Christ our perfect example, raised us all as leaders in the kingdom. Not to oppress each other, in the line of duty, but to serve each other.
Philippians 2:3 KJV
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
It's amazing that Jesus the solution to the world's problems did not keep himself away from those in need, He sought them out.
Luke 19:10 KJV
For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.
It's not enough for us to preach the gospel but we should also offer ourselves.
Mark 10:45Amplified Bible (AMP)
"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many.”
We don't need to desire to be served by others in turns, or to be applauded by people, when carrying out our duties. Preach the gospel and offer yourself to others in love and you will not miss your reward when the Master appears. You can make a difference at service today, in your line of duty, make someone experience the love of God through your selfless service.

Prayer: oh Lord make my life a living sacrifice unto you in Jesus' name.
Remain blessed.
