HOM DAILY DEVOTIONAL

Greater than all herbs

Herald of maranatha: daily devotional
Topic: Greater than all herbs
Mark 4:30-32 KJV
And he said, Whereunto shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it? [31] It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth: [32] But when it is sown, it groweth up, and becometh greater than all herbs, and shooteth out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
Herb is any plant with leaves, seeds, or flowers used for flavouring, food, medicine, or perfume.
Herbs are consumed daily for life and health reasons, that was what God gave initially to humanity for sustainance.
Genesis 1:29 KJV
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
At this point in time when we realise that not all herbs are edible, not all are healthy, we need select carefully what we take into our bodies.
Spiritually there are similar type of feeding which aids or poison our spiritual life.
Jesus speaks here about the most important herb for our spiritual health. Our spirit man is being fed by the things our heart takes in. There are many philosophies, like seeds, that have formed different people's personality. The question is what seed forms your personality?
Of all so called philosophical seeds none can bring perfection, but a seed excels them all.
Matthew 13:23 KJV
But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it ; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
How do you receive the word of God?
How much of the word of God have you allowed in you?
The word of God is that little seed that grows in a man and makes a man become a source of refuge for others.
Hebrews 3:15 KJV
While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
Today is another day receive the word of God with gladness and opened heart today for a total life transformation.
James 1:21 KJV
Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.
Prayer: Lord I receive your word today for a total transformation in Jesus' name.
Remain blessed.
Omoloye Abiola.
